Great weather and a good economy have long drawn people of all types to the city of Tucson. From north, south, east, and west, they have come and added their own stamp to the various neighborhoods which make up the collective identity of the city. It is an eclectic place, where almost anyone can find a home to suit them. We are going to take a look at some of the different communities which make up Tucson, and the homes and amenities you can expect to find in each. Lacking a significant body of natural water, you can't expect Tucson to have neighborhoods like Grand Harbour Toronto, but you will find pleasant oasis like escapes on all sides.

The most luxurious homes and estates to be found in the Tucson area are without doubt those found in the area dubbed the Catalina Foothills. Here, you will find a wide variety of opportunities for the rich to take advantage of when they live and visit the city. It is in this part of town where the upscale shopping centers are located. You will also find gated communities, resorts, art galleries, and golf courses. Expect prices on real estate here to be much higher than you see attached to Georgetown Ontario homes for sale.

Moving to downtown Tucson, we find a community in transformation. Like many large cities, the downtown core of Tucson is undergoing a revitalization in the first part of this new century. Old buildings are being transformed, some into residential developments and some into places to do business. It's in the downtown area that you will find buildings similar to Waterpark City condos to the north. These developments are essentially communities within a larger neighborhood. Boasting a wide range of amenities, living in one means that a resident rarely has to venture outside.

This kind of revitalization effort is nothing new in Tucson, and the city could be said to have taken its cue from the artistic community. Fort Lowell in East Tucson is home to the first major restoration effort in the city. Abandoned and run down, the Fort was the home of three major artists of the Tucson area. Nothing there resembled modern neighborhoods such as Armour Heights; it was very much a southern border style community, but running the way of the ghost town.

The three artists began to rebuild the adobe huts, storefronts, and living quarters located throughout the fort. The efforts struck a chord with many other artists, and the whole fort was transformed and given a modern edge. Today, this neighborhood and the land around it still retains its rural feel despite being in the heart of the city. Nothing in its boundaries resembles typical Brampton houses!
